EN13036-4 Method for Measuring Surface Slip Resistance: Pendulum Test Method

We provide certification for slip resistance, with our primary goal being to create safer spaces through complete mastery of measurement techniques and specialized equipment.

Through our high-quality services and products, we offer the best expertise, customer proximity, efficient solutions, integrity, and fairness. We conduct slip resistance testing in compliance with national and international standards.

International Focus and On-Site Testing Specialization

With a strong focus on exportation, we assist manufacturers in classifying and characterizing the anti-slip properties of their materials.

We specialize in on-site testing according to various standards and systems, including:

  • Pendulum Test (wet and dry)
  • Ramp Method (DIN 51130, DIN 51097)
  • BOT 3000E (DCoF Measurement)
  • Tortus (Friction Coefficient Analysis)
  • Tribometer GMG 200

Our commitment is to provide reliable and certified slip resistance assessments, ensuring compliance and safety for a wide range of surfaces and industries.

Friction pendulum

Of all the slip resistance tests, the tests carried out with the friction pendulum require special expertise in their execution to obtain the highest quality in the results.

We have the broadest scope of accreditation in pendulum testing so we can always offer a solution.

Tribometry

The general purpose of tribometers is to establish a sliding friction coefficient on surfaces on which footwear is generally walked (textile, resilient, laminated, vinyl floors, etc.)

Incline ramp

The most used test in Europe. The incline ramp consists of a sufficiently long platform, on which the surface under test is mounted, which is inclined at a given speed, two technicians walk on the ramp while increasing the degree of inclination until the angle is reached critical tilt.

The difference between the different test standards lies in the applied contaminant.

The Slip Resistance Laboratory collaborates with a wide range of sectors and industries, ensuring that safety and quality standards are met in all environments where slip hazards may be a concern. Below are some of the key areas where our services make a significant impact:

  • Construction and Architecture: We assess flooring in residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations from the installation stage.
  • Hospitality and Tourism: We guarantee that floors in hotels, restaurants, spas, and pools are safe for employees and customers, especially in wet or high-traffic areas.
  • Sports and Leisure: We certify surfaces in sports facilities, gyms, and recreational spaces to minimize risks during physical activities.
  • Educational and Healthcare Centers: We conduct tests in hospitals, schools, and universities to ensure safe and accessible environments.
  • Industry and Logistics: We verify slip resistance in industrial floors and loading areas, helping reduce workplace accidents.

A Safer Future with the Slip Resistance Laboratory

Safety and Sustainability: Our Commitment at the Slip Resistance Laboratory

At the Slip Resistance Laboratory, we understand that safety and sustainability are fundamental pillars in the evaluation of floors and pavements. That’s why we work with an approach that prioritizes not only risk reduction but also the environmental impact of the tested materials. Our services contribute to:

  • Reducing accidents: By identifying surfaces that do not meet the minimum slip resistance requirements.
  • Optimizing resources: Providing recommendations to enhance safety without the need for complete floor replacements.
  • Promoting sustainable practices: Assessing materials that comply with environmental standards and are suitable for eco-friendly projects.

With our expertise, we help create safer and more sustainable environments for a better future.
